Jay Duplass is an American director, producer, and actor. He is one half of the Duplass Brothers, a filmmaking duo known for their mumblecore movies. Jay first gained recognition for his role in The Puffy Chair (2005), which he co-wrote and starred in with his brother Mark.

The film was a success on the festival circuit and led to the Duplass Brothers being courted by Hollywood. Since then, Jay has gone on to star in a number of films and television shows, including Jeff, Who Lives at Home (2011), Togetherness (2015), and Animals (2016).
